Wart and Skin Tag Removal

Warts and skin tags can be removed using targeted radiofrequency or laser ablation, usually in a single short session under topical anaesthetic. Assessment comes first, because not every raised lesion is a wart or a skin tag, and correctly identifying what it is matters more than removing it quickly.

Assessment first, and this one is not a formality. We will not remove any lesion that is changing in size, shape or colour, bleeding, itching, irregularly edged or asymmetric. Those need a dermatologist first. If we see one, we will tell you and refer you.

Who it is not for

  • Anyone with a lesion that is changing, bleeding, irregular or asymmetric — see a dermatologist
  • Keloid-prone skin, depending on site
  • Active infection in the area
  • Uncontrolled diabetes or bleeding disorders without medical clearance
  • Pregnancy, depending on site and method

Aftercare

  • Keep the area clean and dry for 48 hours
  • Apply the prescribed ointment as directed
  • Do not pick the scab — picking causes scarring and is the main reason results disappoint
  • SPF 50 on the healed area for at least 3 months to prevent pigmentation
  • No swimming or steam until fully healed

Frequently asked

Does it hurt?

Topical anaesthetic is applied. Most people feel pressure and mild heat rather than pain.

Will it scar?

There is usually a small pink or pale mark that fades over weeks to months. Picking the scab significantly increases scarring risk, so do not.

Can warts come back?

Yes. Warts are viral, so recurrence is possible and further treatment is sometimes needed. Skin tags rarely return in the same spot, though new ones can appear elsewhere.

How many sessions will I need?

Usually one. Multiple or stubborn warts may need a second session.

Is there downtime?

A small scab for five to ten days. No restriction on normal activity.

What if my lesion looks unusual?

We will not remove it. Anything changing, bleeding, irregular or asymmetric needs a dermatologist first, and we will refer you.

Results vary from person to person. Some concerns need a dermatologist rather than a Wellness treatment we'll say so at consultation.
