Korean method, Indian skin, Chennai conditions.
Aglow's approach combines Korean skincare methodology with clinical understanding of Indian skin. Korean protocols supply the structure — barrier first, layered, gradual and preventive. Indian skin expertise supplies the calibration, because higher melanin skin in a hot, humid, high-UV climate responds differently to almost every intervention.
What Korean method contributes
Barrier first
Korean protocols repair the skin's protective function before attempting correction. Skin with a compromised barrier is inflamed skin, and inflamed skin resists every treatment applied to it.
Layering over intensity
Thin sequential layers, each absorbed before the next, rather than a single heavy application or one strong intervention.
Patience as a method
Korean skincare accepts that meaningful change takes months. That is why it works.
Prevention as the default
The Korean approach treats daily protection and maintenance as the treatment, and clinic sessions as the accelerator.
What Indian skin requires
Lower intensity exfoliation
Higher melanin skin responds to over-exfoliation with post-inflammatory pigmentation rather than glow. We work at lower strengths and accept slower progress.
Conservative heat
Heat is a pigmentation trigger in Fitzpatrick IV and V skin and a known melasma aggravator. Steam, hot devices and warm compresses are used sparingly.
Pigment-led planning
Pigmentation is the dominant concern in this population, so almost every protocol is designed with pigment risk assessed first.
Realistic sequencing
We clear inflammation before we correct colour, and colour before we work on texture. Skipping ahead is the most common reason treatment fails.
What Chennai adds
Year-round UV
Sun protection is not seasonal here. It is the single highest impact thing any client does, and it is free.
Coastal humidity
Occlusive routines that work in dry climates cause congestion here. Korean routines need editing, not copying, before they suit Chennai skin.
Hard water
A common and rarely considered contributor to scalp irritation, hair texture change and skin dryness across much of the city.
Commute exposure
Time on the road in Chennai traffic is meaningful UV and pollution exposure, and we account for it when we build your plan.
Diet and climate load
Both change skin behaviour and both are part of the assessment.
