Unwanted Hair
One of the most common reasons people come to us, and the most common secondary complaint is what the removal method is doing to the skin: ingrown hairs, razor bumps, darkening from repeated waxing, and folliculitis in Chennai's humidity.
The problem with the wax and thread cycle
Repeated waxing and threading over years causes real skin changes: darkening in the treated area from repeated trauma, ingrown hairs, folliculitis, and in some people a gradual coarsening of the regrowth. In a humid climate the folliculitis is worse, because sweat and friction on freshly traumatised follicles is a reliable recipe for it.
For many people the skin problem eventually becomes the bigger concern.
What works
Laser hair reduction over a course of six to eight sessions, with maintenance once or twice a year. It reduces density and thickness substantially, which also resolves the ingrowns and the darkening because the trauma cycle stops.
What to know before you book
- It is reduction, not permanent removal
- It requires the full course — hair grows in cycles and each session catches a different set of follicles
- It does not work on grey, white or very fine blonde hair
- You must stop waxing, threading and plucking during the course — shaving is fine
- A fresh tan means we reschedule you, for safety
Frequently asked
Is laser hair removal permanent?
It is long-term reduction. Most people see substantial lasting decrease with occasional maintenance.
Will it help my ingrown hairs?
Usually yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people are relieved they did it.
Is it safe for Indian skin?
Yes, with correct wavelength, conservative settings and a patch test first.
How many sessions?
Six to eight, spaced four to six weeks apart.
Can I wax between sessions?
No. Shave instead. The root must be present for the laser to work.
Do men have this done?
Yes, commonly, particularly beard shaping, back, chest and shoulders.
